Louie celebrates innovation, design and architectural history. Inspired by Nosanchuk’s love of late 20th century American architecture, Louie is born from a 3D scan of the Facade of the Bayard Condict Building, Louis Sullivan’s (father of modern architecture and known for his words “form follows function”) first skyscraper and only NYC work. Selecting a scanned element from the building façade, the scanning map was converted into a printable tracery that was a form and a skin, illuminated from within from hidden LEDs.
